Meet the maker

Elephant of Aburi

Known simply as Elephant, he was born into a long line of woodcarvers in Aburi and is now one of the leading carvers working at the renowned Aburi Art Center.

For more than five years, Pure Gold Market has worked directly with Elephant through regular travel between Toronto and Accra. Our collaboration takes place at our studio at One Corner Garden in Kokomlemle, Accra, where a collection of his carvings is displayed throughout the restaurant.

Elephant carves every wall mask, bust and sculpture in the ADHDesign collection. ADHDesign commissions and purchases the work directly. Natural wood grain and hand carving give each piece its own character.
